Diwali is one of the biggest festivals in India and a very exciting time of year. This year, Diwali starts on October 18th and Milford Moose is very excited to take part in the festivities!
Are you wondering what a little Moose like Milford does to prepare for Diwali? Come along and see!
Milford knows that wearing new clothes during Diwali is very important. Everyone goes shopping for the holiday so they can look their best!
A snazzy blue bow-tie is just the thing for Milford’s Diwali outfit.
Once he’s all dressed up, it’s time to start the party! Do you know why Diwali is also known as the Festival of Lights? It’s because people decorate their homes with many bright lights.
It’s also important to light many diya. Diya are lamps made out of clay and filled with oil to help them burn.
They are very beautiful and a big part of Diwali. The many bright lights mean that good is stronger than evil, and light is better than darkness. Milford Moose quite likes this idea because he’s still afraid of the dark sometimes.
During Diwali, there are also a lot of very tasty treats to try. Sweets are given as gifts to friends and neighbors.
Milford love Diwali treats, even though sometimes he eats a little bit too much.
What are some of your favorite Diwali sweets?
After all that decorating and all that eating, there’s just one last thing to do: light some sparklers and have a little Diwali fun!
Milford has to be very careful not to singe his antlers.
Have a happy and safe Diwali!
